Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has formed a committee to fight and prevent the spread of coronavirus in the area of Dhaka under its purview.
The DNCC mayor will act as committee president while its chief health officer will be the member secretary of the committee, said DNCC Public Relations Officer ASM Mamun today.

The committee will implement the directives of the national committee formed on coronavirus prevention and will build public awareness to contan the spread of the virus, he added.
Additionally, the committee will take steps to ensure home quarantine and provide financial and logistical support where necessary.
The committee will also take immediate steps, according to the advice of the national committee, if any case of coronavirus is detected anywhere in the city, the DNCC official added.
According to the decision of the committee, mobile courts will be set up if necessary, to ensure home quarantine conditions are followed.
As part of the preventive measures, the committee has declared closure of all of its community centres to avoid mass gatherings.
